Why can't I add or move a family member?
The common reasons adding, moving, or removing a family member is blocked on a family membership — and what to do about each.
If adding, moving, or removing someone on your family membership is blocked, it's almost always one of the reasons below.
"All membership spots filled"
Your membership has a limit on how many people can be on it, and it's full.
- Free up a spot by removing someone you no longer need on the membership, then add the new person.
- Or ask your club to raise the limit on the plan.
You don't see a way to add or remove anyone
Your club has chosen to manage the family roster for you on this membership. You'll see a short note instead of the controls.
- Contact your club and ask them to add, move, or remove the person.
You can't remove or move a specific person
Once a family member has used the membership to join an event, you can't remove them or change their type yourself — that would change the access they're relying on.
- Ask your club to make the change. Staff can move or remove a member even after they've joined an event.
The person isn't in the list when you try to add them
- They may not be in your family in OpenCourt yet. Add them under your family settings first, then try again.
- They may already have their own membership at this club. Each person can be on only one membership per club, so they can't also be added to yours. Contact your club if you think this is a mistake.
Still stuck?
Contact your club — they can see the membership and make any change on your behalf.
