Unlock your simulator bay
Your bay's screen is locked until you type your code. Here is where to find it, when it works, and what to do if the bay does not open.
At some clubs the simulator bay's screen stays locked until the person who booked it types a code. Your code comes with your booking — you never have to ask for it. This page is where to find it, when it works, and what to do if the bay does not open.
Where to find your code
Your booking code is six digits. It is labelled Bay unlock code on your booking in the app and Bay Code in your emails, and it is in three places:
- On your booking in the OpenCourt app. Open the booking and look for the row labelled Bay unlock code.
- In your booking confirmation email, on the line reading Bay Code:.
- In your reminder email before your session, on the same Bay Code: line.
There is no text message, so check your email rather than waiting for one.
If the code is not usable yet, the app shows it with the time it starts working next to it — for example Bay unlock code · active from 5:55 PM.
Everyone on the booking gets the same code, so it does not matter who paid. If your booking covers two bays, the one code opens both.
When your code works
By default, from 5 minutes before your start time until 2 minutes after your end time. Your club can change both, so check the times shown on your booking if you are not sure. Arrive a few minutes early and you can start straight away — the bay screen offers it.
Outside that window the bay will not take the code, and that is not a broken code. You are either there before the window opens, or the booking has already finished and its short grace period has run out. Check the time on your booking, and if it has passed, book again or ask staff.
What you will see at the bay
- Before your time, the bay shows the club's screen — a clock, the next booking, and a QR code for booking a bay.
- When your window opens, the screen greets you — Welcome, {your first name}! — and asks you to enter your PIN, with your bay and session times underneath.
- Type your six digits. The lock screens clear off every display and the simulator is yours.
- Near the end, a small notice appears in a corner at 10, 5 and 1 minutes left. It never covers the game.
- When time is up, the screen thanks you and offers one free extra minute if you need to save a round or log out.
If the bay does not open
- The screen says "Incorrect PIN — please try again" — check you are typing the Bay Code from your booking, not a door access code. Clubs with a keypad on the door give you both, and they are different numbers. Several wrong tries in a row pause the keypad for a few seconds.
- The screen still shows the clock and "No Active Booking" — your code's window is not open. Check the time on your booking: you may be too early, or the booking may already be over. Check the bay name too — it is on your booking and in the corner of the bay screen — in case you are at a different bay from the one you booked.
- You cannot find a code anywhere — your club may not use bay codes, or your booking may have been made before they switched them on. Ask staff.
- Nothing works and there is nobody at the desk — call the club. Staff can read your code back to you, and they can open the bay for you from their side without a code at all.
