Add your email DNS records at Cloudflare

Where to find your DNS records at Cloudflare, and how to add the DKIM, Return-Path and DMARC records for your club's email — with the Return-Path set to DNS only.

Add the DNS records for your club's email at Cloudflare, so OpenCourt can send your email campaigns and booking emails from your own domain. (About 10 minutes.)

Before you begin

Open your DNS records

  1. Sign in to the Cloudflare dashboard and select your domain.
  2. Go to DNS → Records.

Add the DKIM record

  1. Select Add record.
  2. In Type, choose TXT.
  3. In Name, paste the DKIM Host from OpenCourt. Cloudflare accepts the full host.
  4. In Content, paste the DKIM Value.
  5. Leave TTL on Auto, and select Save.

Add the Return-Path record

  1. Select Add record.
  2. In Type, choose CNAME.
  3. In Name, paste the Return-Path Host.
  4. In Target, paste the Return-Path Value.
  5. Turn Proxy status off, so the record shows DNS only (a gray cloud).
  6. Select Save.

Add the DMARC record (if OpenCourt recommends it)

Do this only if the DMARC row in OpenCourt says Recommended. If it says Published, skip it.

  1. Select Add record, and choose TXT.
  2. In Name, paste the DMARC Host from OpenCourt.
  3. In Content, paste the DMARC Value from OpenCourt.
  4. Select Save.

Verify in OpenCourt

Go back to the Sending domain card and click Check verification. When both records show Found, the card turns green: Domain verified. Then continue with step 3 of Turn on email campaigns.

If something goes wrong

  • The Return-Path record shows Not found — open it in DNS → Records and check Proxy status. If it shows an orange cloud (Proxied), select Edit, turn the proxy off, and select Save.
  • The DKIM record shows Not found — compare Content with the DKIM Value in OpenCourt, character for character. The value is long, so check that you pasted all of it. Quotation marks that Cloudflare adds around the value are normal and do not need to be removed.
  • You need help inside Cloudflare — see Cloudflare's documentation. For anything in OpenCourt, email support@getopencourt.com.
